★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Called about a wort growing on my hand back in June and they wouldn’t see me until August. Luckily, I already had a dermatologist appointment I booked back in April 2024 for August 2024zI’m not sure the level of circumstances for medical professionalism, but I do think it’s strange they didn’t/wouldn’t see me when I specifically explained the wort was hurting me and causing me pain back in June.I’ve also been coming here since 2016 and there’s always EXCUSES.I’ve had this wort since June 15 and they just saw me today, 2 months later and all they did was freeze it. It LITERALLY took 10 minutes. All these weeks and time wasted, they wouldn’t give me an earlier appointment. I went to the appointment today and there were no patients, it isn’t busy. So why did I have to wait so long? That’s ridiculous.I don’t understand how a Rutgers medical office can have a patient waiting weeks to remove a wort, when I’ve been a patient since 2016.I would also like to add they froze it and told me to come back in 2 months- again, that’s ridiculous!
Aug 13, 2024 · Donnaghi MoncadaI had scheduled an appointment a month in advance. I came in and was attended for about 15 minutes and was literally told I had acne, which I had already known. The physician didn’t really explain my situation very in depth, which was frustrating. I even showed her a rash I had on my stomach and she just shrugged it off and told me I could get something over the counter. I eventually had to go to an urgent care to get an ointment and pills prescribed. For my acne, I was then prescribed medication that wasn’t covered by my insurance and needed pre-authorization. I had called the office more than 7 or 8 times trying to get a hold of my physician and was unable too. I would speak to someone different each time and was told something different by each of these individuals. I even tried to connect the Dermatology Department with my insurance and no one picked up. I was super frustrated because they were so quick to make my appointment, but they didn’t make sure everything was properly resolved after my appointment. I eventually decided to come into the office the next day to see if I could get a hold of the doctor. I came in and no one knew nothing. The ladies in the front were nice especially the young lady working in the back. They got a hold of the physician I saw and got her to give me a call. The physician failed in the fact that she had told me that if my insurance hadn’t covered my medication she would send over other directions as to what I or the pharmacy would need to do. Nothing was obviously sent over by her. My insurance was lost, so was my pharmacy, and so was I. Eventually I got a hold of her, but I know if I wouldn’t have showed up at the office again it would have probably been weeks before I got a hold of my medication. In the end, I believe this was a problem that could have easily been avoided/resolved if the department cared a little bit more about their patients. I’m not one to make a bad review about no department/ office/ or restaurant. Please just save yourself the trouble, this is from someone who is planning on becoming a physician in the near future.
Jul 15, 2020 · Ana FernandezIf you have questions or need assistance in any way they DO NOT answer the phone or return calls. Luckily I made my appointment before this started happening. I hope they get their act together before I need to make another appointment otherwise this will be a deal breaker and I'll find another Dermatologist. Move forward 4 months and it's that time again and I can't get an appointment until October and they won't respond to the pharmacy to refill my daughters prescription for acne medication. It's time to move on. I can't take this any longer. Bye bye!!
Jun 27, 2022 · Kathy Jo Cotterill*Update at the bottom.Beyond terrible experience. I've been to numerous dermatologist over the past 2 decades but this doctor was disgraceful. Even with insurance, I had a co-pay (understandable) which I paid before being seen. I noted on my intake form exactly why I scheduled the appointment. The doctor did not address those concerns at all. I even verbally said so in the room and she did not take a look. She did not put on gloves at any point during the appointment because she did not do anything. She told me there was nothing to do, that I've obviously been to many doctors and nothing she prescribed would be any different. Her only suggestion was to go have blood work done and bring back the results because this is genetics. I literally left with NOTHING. No information, no prescription, no diagnosis, no help whatsoever AND received a bill in the mail for $95.40.[Update] I have extremely clear skin for the past 5 years now with being under the care of a different dermatologist in Ocean County. My current dermatologist looks carefully at my skin and makes slight adjustments as needed. I don’t pay for expensive creams or medications. My acne may in fact be genetic but I did not have to suffer with it as long as I did. I am still upset that University Dermatology Group was so wrong in how I was treated (or lack of treatment) as a patient. This picture I took today. As I said, this group did nothing for me. My clear skin is credited to Ocean Dermatology.
Oct 19, 2024 · Jeanna GipsonThe first visit here was great. The staff seemed friendly and I had no issues. Not sure what has happened as of recently, but getting through to anyone on the phone is borderline impossible. I've left voicemails and called multiple times a day. Often times my call (after a long waiting period) would get forwarded to a call center where I would leave my information but no one would call me back. I found a new dermatologist today because I was dealing with a major issue that needed to be taken care of ASAP and couldn't get through to anyone.Even if you can get through to anyone on the phone, the appointment turn around is absurd. I made an appointment in early January and the soonest they could get me in was APRIL.
