For residents across Tempe and the wider Arizona community, maintaining healthy and vibrant skin can often be a significant endeavor, especially with the unique environmental challenges presented by our desert climate. The Steiner Institute of Esthetics, located in Tempe, offers a distinctive opportunity to receive professional skin care treatments in an educational setting. This institute provides supervised services performed by aspiring estheticians, offering an accessible pathway to addressing various skin concerns, from acne to signs of aging. It's a place where learning meets practical application, benefiting both students and clients seeking quality skin care solutions.
Arizona's arid climate and abundant sunshine can lead to specific skin issues such as dehydration, sun damage, and accelerated aging. Access to knowledgeable professionals who can guide you through effective routines and recommend appropriate products is crucial. The Steiner Institute of Esthetics, through its student clinic, aims to provide such a resource, ensuring that local users can pursue their skin health goals with personalized attention and effective treatments. This article will highlight what makes the Steiner Institute of Esthetics a unique and valuable option for Arizonans looking to enhance their skin.
The Steiner Institute of Esthetics is conveniently located at 1425 W Southern Ave Suite 1, Tempe, AZ 85282, USA. This address places the institute in an accessible area of Tempe, making it a viable option for residents not only within Tempe but also from surrounding communities such as Mesa, Chandler, and Phoenix. Southern Avenue is a major east-west thoroughfare, ensuring straightforward navigation to the location.
Being a professional educational institution, the facility is designed to support a learning environment while providing client services. Its accessibility means that individuals can easily integrate skin care appointments into their schedules, allowing for consistent care and the pursuit of their skin health objectives with convenience.
As an esthetics training institute, the Steiner Institute of Esthetics offers a variety of skin care services performed by students under the supervision of licensed instructors. While the exact, comprehensive list of services may vary based on curriculum and student training levels, common offerings in such student clinics typically include:
Facial Treatments: This is a core service, customized to address various skin types and concerns. Reviews highlight personalized experiences, including deep cleansing, extractions, and hydrating elements. These are particularly beneficial for addressing issues like acne and dryness common in Arizona.
Skin Analysis and Consultation: A fundamental part of any good skin care routine, students are trained to assess skin conditions, ask detailed questions, and listen to client concerns to recommend appropriate treatments and products. This ensures a tailored approach to individual needs.
Product Recommendations: Students, under guidance, learn to recommend suitable skin care products for home use, helping clients maintain and enhance the results achieved in the clinic. This is vital for long-term skin health in the Arizona climate.
Exfoliation Treatments: Services such as gentle exfoliation methods, possibly including manual or enzymatic exfoliation, to improve skin texture and promote a radiant glow.
Relaxing and Rejuvenating Experiences: Clients often seek not just results but also a calming experience. Student estheticians are trained to provide a soothing environment, making the facial a relaxing escape.
Acne Appearance Improvement: One client specifically noted significant improvement in "acne appearance," suggesting that the treatments provided are effective for managing breakouts.
Overall Skin Glow and Pore Refinement: Feedback indicates treatments contribute to an "overall glow" and improvement in the appearance of "pores," pointing to services that refine skin texture and tone.
Potential for other Basic Esthetic Services: While not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews, esthetics curricula typically include services like waxing, lash and brow tinting, and basic makeup application, which may also be offered to the public in a student clinic setting.
The Steiner Institute of Esthetics provides a unique client experience, highlighted by several key features:
Student-Led, Supervised Services: A defining characteristic is that treatments are performed by students. While some might be "nervous overall," as one reviewer stated, the crucial aspect is that these students are supervised by licensed professionals. This ensures a balance of learning and quality control.
Personalized and Attentive Care: Despite being a student, one reviewer highlighted Chynna's exceptional ability to take "the time to ask me questions but more importantly, listened to my concerns and requests!" This personalized attention, often paired with the eagerness of students to excel, can lead to a very thorough and thoughtful experience.
Knowledgeable Future Professionals: Clients consistently note the students' burgeoning knowledge. Chynna was described as "knowledgeable," and her program was credited with teaching her "what she needs to be able to offer that to future clients." This means you're receiving care from individuals actively absorbing the latest in skin care education.
Educational and Transparent Experience: The option for the esthetician to "talk me through all the steps" and explain "about the products, how they would feel" is a significant highlight. This transparency educates clients about their skin and the process, empowering them with more knowledge than they had before.
Affordable Access to Professional Treatments: Clinics within educational institutions often provide services at a more accessible price point compared to established private clinics, making professional skin care attainable for a broader segment of the community. This can be a major draw for Arizona locals seeking regular treatments without a prohibitive cost.
Focus on Client Comfort and Insecurity Management: The care shown by students like Chynna, who "understood my insecurities and was gracious about my experience," creates a supportive and non-judgmental environment, which is vital for building client confidence.
Tangible Results and Confidence Boost: The primary goal is achieving positive outcomes. One reviewer saw significant improvement in "acne appearance and overall glow, pores and my confidence," demonstrating the effectiveness of the treatments and the positive impact on self-esteem.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I just wanted to take some time out and write a review for an amazing service. More often than not, we take the time to write out the negative experiences but take for granite the positive ones. This may equally hurt and help others therefore, I would like to highlight a wonderful experience.First facial treatment at this school. Honestly, I have not seen a licensed professional regarding my skin care routine or concerns since 2009. I was very hesitant and worried that I was going to be assessed by a student but came to find this experience is the only way to go! I have increasingly difficult skin as I age and I was also a little worried to see someone younger as they most likely have not had to experience the changes I was attempting to overcome alone.I was paired with Chynna and I was nervous overall but she was very sweet. She took the time to ask me questions but more importantly, listened to my concerns and requests! She knowledgeable and it wasn’t to the degree of know it all annoying. She asked if I wanted a relaxing experience and or if I wanted for her to talk me through all the steps. I had her talk me through and it was fun too! She would tell me about the products, how they would feel and I love that she understood my insecurities and was gracious about my experience. She listened and was very respectful in delivery of sensitive information.Overall, I enjoyed this experience. I bought a product that was recommended and my skin has improved so much in acne appearance and overall glow, pores and my confidence. I can tell she really wants to help make people beautiful and this program has taught her what she needs to be able to offer that to future clients.I am booking my next appointment!! Thank you Steiner – Tempe!
Feb 27, 2017 · girlx031My experience at this school, was very dramatic unorganized.I didn't get the help I needed until the last few month's. Teacher's don't listen when you have a terribly allergic to dairy product's. Yet to ignores your wish and still put's it on you after! you've told them numerous time not to do so.The safe is really nice you can talk to them when ever you feel like it, supportive but when your having issues with someone, they won't do anything but tell you to write it down and they will deal with it when they can. Which they shouldn't they should of had taken care of it the minute it happened, the people in this school who are enrolled we're very!!!!immature even at the age 26-30.My expectations of this school was to think, I'm actually going to a college that's mature but I thought wrong. Wouldn't waist money on this if you want catty immature people and teacher's that don't pay attention to your well being. Also if you have an attitude and your always in a mood to ruin someone's day this school! is made just for you.I'd also say the school work wasn't complicated.
Nov 10, 2015 · Alyssa MannetteVery good experience. I received a facial from Kendra Watts. She did an amazing job and took her time. Very knowledgeable on the products she was using and very professional. I would receive another facial from Kendra Watts again.
Feb 15, 2017 · Anthony OrtizImpressive faculty and a great program. I would recommend this school to any one interested in becoming a skilled esthetician or advancing their career in make up artistry!
May 20, 2017 · Summer ShipleyI wouldn't recommend this school to anyone I know.
