Stanford Medicine Children's Health- Dermatology Department Introduce
For parents in California, especially those in the Palo Alto and surrounding Bay Area communities, navigating a child's medical needs can be a complex and often emotional journey. When it comes to skin conditions, from common concerns like eczema and acne to more complex and rare disorders, having access to specialized pediatric care is crucial. The Dermatology Department at Stanford Medicine Children's Health is a key resource for families seeking expert, compassionate care for their children's skin, hair, and nail health. This department is part of a nationally recognized institution, known for its cutting-edge research, teaching, and patient care.
The pediatric dermatology team at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford is dedicated to providing the highest quality, nurturing care for young patients. Their focus is not only on treating conditions but also on educating families to help children achieve and maintain healthy skin for a lifetime. This comprehensive approach is particularly vital for conditions that are chronic or require ongoing management. The department's expertise extends to a wide range of pediatric age groups, from infants with red birthmarks to teenagers dealing with acne, ensuring that every child receives an individualized care plan tailored to their unique needs.
While the institution as a whole is celebrated for its medical breakthroughs and advanced care, some public feedback indicates that there may be challenges with the patient experience, particularly concerning appointment scheduling and communication. This is a common point of frustration for families navigating large hospital systems. However, it is important to recognize that the department's mission is rooted in a commitment to research and the treatment of rare and complex genetic skin disorders, for which they are nationally recognized. This specialized focus, along with their general pediatric dermatology services, positions them as a leading authority in the field, particularly for cases that require a high level of expertise.
As a local resource, the Dermatology Department offers a level of care that is often unavailable at smaller clinics. For California families facing a serious or rare skin condition, the access to a team of specialists who can collaborate to address a child's individual needs is an invaluable asset. This institution's reputation for advanced care and research means that families in the Bay Area can find hope and expert solutions for conditions that may have previously seemed insurmountable.
The Dermatology Department at Stanford Medicine Children's Health is located at 730 Welch Rd 1st floor, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. This address places the clinic within the broader Stanford medical campus, a well-known and central location for medical care in the Bay Area. While the campus itself can be large, the specific address helps families navigate to the correct building. The clinic is on the first floor, which can be an accessibility benefit for families with young children or those with mobility challenges.
The location in Palo Alto is convenient for residents of the Peninsula and the South Bay. Stanford Medicine Children's Health- Dermatology Department Reviews
I agree with other reviewers this is a pretty terrible service provider. I got a referral for my daughter and i called them three days in a row. No one picked up after holding the line for 15 minutes each day. Why do you even exist? Maybe you don’t!
May 13, 2025 · Jeff QinThey have wasted the first 8 weeks important to my son for nothink and now they refuse to do anything for him. Kept talking in circles, what a disappointment I thought that my son condition was finally going to get solved, but no they are by far the worst I have ever seen.
Jun 30, 2020 · Moe IssaDrove 600 miles round trip from nevada, the doctors there are complete idiot's, refuse to do anything for my daughter. Kept talking in circles, what a disappointment I thought that my daughter condition was finally going to get solved, but no they are by far the worst I have ever seen, real jerks find another facility if these people don't want to help then get the hell out if you are that stupid and unwilling
Jun 08, 2017 · joseph “50 Cal BMG” BOutrageous $500 bill for just speaking to the doctor for 10 minutes. No complications no medicines prescribed, instead could have gone for 4-5 urgent care visits.
Jul 13, 2023 · avinash vtWhat a nightmare to just make an appointment!! I spent half hour over the phone to hear at the end that I have to wait for one and half month for 15 mins appointment with the doctor!! They could not even tell me if they are in network with my insurance provider!
