Did my laser removal with Alisa. She’s very nice & thorough. Have been going to Skin Spa for many years & Alisa was a breath of fresh air. Very nice!1 star removed because front desk girl had an attitude. People have to understand communication is not just verbal, but also it is on your face & when you’re huffing/puffing like a child when someone is simply asking about their services, pricing & what not.People hate to be bothered by questions, but sure would want questions answered if the roles were reversed in regards to their money. My first time and I loved this spa. I had 2 treatments with Maria, she was very knowledgeable, didn’t push any treatments on me, since I loved their menu and wanted to do all of it at once. On the contrary, she told me to wait and let my skin breathe and heal a bit, which I really appreciated. She was very gentle with extractions and a peel, I didn’t feel any discomfort at all. Skin is glowing! So, back to their menu, they have everything! So I’m definitely going back.

So I've been a loyal customer to Skin Spa for facials and microdermabrasion for over 5 years. My visit this time on 4/15/24 was not good at all and this review is specifically towards the esthetician that was assigned to me.1. She rushed through my process. She made minimal conversation or barely answered me when I tried to make conversation with her. So I took this as not very friendly.2. She began with microdermabrasion first which was strange to me because in the past that part came after steaming and before extractions. I told her my problem areas (nose, chin, around lips) but she quickly passed the machine over and didn't focus on the spots I mentioned.3. The facial itself was nice, however the products used on my face were not for my skin type. This goes back to the beginning of my appointment. She asked me what I currently do for skincare which I said I use Korean skincare. She didn't ask me if I'm acne prone, combo, dry etc. If she had asked me, I would have hoped she would have tailored products specific to my skin type and use products that were non-comedogenic (hence the custom facial aspect of this treatment.)4. I don't think she is skilled in gua sha. I've had gua sha done at Chinese spas and this was not it.5. As soon as I got home, the products that were layered onto my face began to pill. Long strings everywhere as I rubbed. Face products are meant to melt into one another, not sit on top the skin. I washed my entire face off.6. Days to follow I had horrible cystic acne from the products used. My pores were not clean and visibly still dirty. I spent 2 weeks using my Korean skincare which thankfully healed my skin right away.Overall I would be very careful and only ask for skilled estheticians. Again, in the past I've had wonderful facials here by others and also at the Chelsea location.

Front desk staff was informative and friendly, I had Stacy taking care of my facial, she was lovely, she took her time to explain everything related to my face, she recommended the complexion treatment pads for my face I can’t wait to try them and see the results. They also have really convenient packages that I will definitely do next time with my mom. Loved this place!
