Precision Dermatology and Skin Surgery Introduce
For residents of Orange Park, Florida, and the greater Jacksonville area, finding a dermatology clinic that combines expert medical knowledge with a professional and reliable experience is paramount. Precision Dermatology and Skin Surgery aims to be that trusted destination for all skin-related health concerns. In a state with year-round sun exposure, issues like skin cancer, sun damage, and other dermatological conditions are a significant concern. This practice is committed to providing a high standard of care, offering everything from general dermatology services to highly specialized surgical procedures. The clinic is equipped to handle a wide array of skin conditions, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and precise treatment for their unique needs.
The practice is known for its team of dedicated professionals, including the highly-regarded Dr. Shvartzman. A customer review highlights Dr. Shvartzman's expertise and professionalism, describing him as "confident, well seasoned and subject matter expert in dermatology." This kind of patient feedback is a strong indicator of the clinical quality and expertise available. The review further notes that the doctor took the time to educate the patient about their son’s condition, explaining its genetic nature and providing a clear path forward. This focus on patient education and transparent communication is a crucial component of the clinic's approach, empowering patients to understand their conditions and make informed decisions about their health.
Beyond the expertise of its practitioners, Precision Dermatology and Skin Surgery offers a comprehensive range of services. From the diagnosis of common skin conditions to the treatment of complex issues, the clinic is a one-stop-shop for skin health. They specialize in surgical procedures, including Mohs surgery for skin cancer, a highly precise technique that removes cancerous tissue while sparing as much healthy skin as possible. This is particularly relevant in Florida, where skin cancer is a prevalent health issue. The clinic’s commitment to staying on the forefront of dermatological science and technology is a key feature, allowing them to provide some of the most advanced treatments available.
While the clinical and surgical expertise receives high praise, it is important to address the full spectrum of the patient experience. A detailed customer review points out some significant concerns regarding customer service and administrative processes. The review, from a long-time patient, describes issues with out-of-pocket cost information, recovery time details, and scheduling. The patient also expressed frustration over a request for an RX refill for their daughter's acne medication, which was denied without a follow-up visit. These instances of communication breakdowns and perceived inflexibility can be a source of frustration for patients who expect a seamless experience. The review also notes a feeling of being treated as "incompetent" and a lack of empathy from the staff. This feedback, while critical, offers a crucial perspective on the patient journey and underscores the importance of consistent, clear communication from the front desk to the clinical team.
It is clear that the clinic’s strengths lie in its medical expertise and the quality of its practitioners. The glowing review about Dr. Shvartzman and the successful treatment of a cyst demonstrates a high level of confidence in the doctors’ abilities. The staff is described as providing "superior service" and "detailed explanation of the procedure" in this particular instance. This suggests that when things go well, the experience can be excellent. However, the other review indicates that administrative and customer service issues can detract from the overall patient experience. For potential patients, this information provides a balanced view, highlighting the clinic's strong medical foundation while also pointing to potential areas of administrative concern.
For locals in Orange Park and the surrounding areas, having access to a highly skilled dermatologist is a major advantage. The clinic's ability to handle complex conditions, such as skin cancer, with confidence and expertise is a vital service for the community. The educational component, where doctors take the time to explain a diagnosis and treatment plan, is a feature that many patients value highly. While the administrative challenges mentioned are a valid concern, the core medical competence of the practice remains a significant draw for people seeking serious dermatological care. The clinic’s commitment to a "higher standard of care" is a promise that, while sometimes tested by administrative issues, appears to be upheld in the clinical aspects of their work.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My son’s use case include a cyst behind left ear. My son seen three doctors and responded with “it may be due to hormones, hair follicle, wait and see…” I decided to take my son to this practice to see Dr. Shvartzman. The Doctor is confident, well seasoned and subject matter expert in dermatology, and exudes high level of professionalism. He also educated me the cyst is genetic. The staff from physician assistant to front desk provide superior service, detailed explanation of the procedure with accurate information. I highly recommend this practice to potential patients.
Jul 22, 2025 · Jane JohnsonI have gone here for years and I do not know what has happened to customer service at this practice. I used to always have a good experience and now not so much.A few months ago we discssed having 4 lesions removed from my eyelids. I asked three times by phone what the out of pocket would be and was told it was covered by insurance. I asked about recovery time, and no one knew and said I would find out when I was there. I asked if I needed to be driven, they did not know.... (So I took someone.) When I arrived, I was told it would be $2800 ($700 x 4 spots). Then, they acted aggrevated with me that I did not have the procedure that day and write a check for $2800. I reached out to management and never heard back. I was willing to sweep that under the rug.Recently I took my daughter in for acne. First I schedule she and then me through their scheduling portal. Entered all her info and then all of my info. They got her appt but not mine. They were kind enough to squeeze me in but really acted like I was the incompetent one when I think it was the system. (I know how to use a computer.)My daughter was given 2 Rx and some samples. She was scheduled a follow-up. I had to resceuled the follow-up for next week becasue life/work happens. I called this morning because she is out of the samples. I requested another to get us through the appt or an Rx be phoned in. They say they have no samples or they woudl gie us one, and cannot call in the Rx without seeing her becasue they need to see if it's working. Didn't they just see her and give her the sample? Won't it certainly not be working if she goes one week without it? Aren't they acknowledging I could be handed a sample if they had them but an RX is for her safety? I can read through the lines, what they actually want is another $150 from my insurance. The idea that this is for my daughters "safety" after she has been using the drug since they gave it to her is actually condescending. It is clearly about the money rather than my daughter who will probably have an outbreak between now and then.....But the real kicker was the attitude each time. Things happen, I understand, but in none of these have there even been even an off-handed "sorry for the confusion" or "we will look into this", just I'm an idiot and they aren't. The nurse today even said she was in teh room and "remembers" the doctor said she would not write the RX without seeing her. Amazing memory! If you want a good dermatologist, I recommend. If you want good service, go elsewhere. I persoanlly want both and since they can not be bothered in office to listen maybe they will see this.***And now they claim not to know me. I was just there, they treat me twice a year for at least 5 years but probably longer. Comical. (And yes, I double checked that I had the right one and had not written some whacky review on the wrong place. I'll attach my vist confirmation with THEIR office number.)
Jun 19, 2025 · Marci McCoshBEWARE!!!! ALWAYS compare what your insurance EOB (Explanation of Benefits) states under "What you owe the Provider" vs what you were charged at this clinic when you check out. Chances are, you have overpaid. And unless you call the clinic for a refund, they will not automatically refund you the overpayment. Every time I go to this clinic, I always have to call them back a month or two later to ask for the refund because they don't automatically refund the overpayment - you have to ask for it! One of them was over $100 refund. The first time I caught it, it was for a service that was done almost a year prior. They refunded me after I asked about it. I thought it was a one-time mistake. Unfortunately, it happened again...and again. They did refund me each time I asked, but what about other people who are not aware of such practice?Provider is good, but this billing issue is a huge turn off. I understand that the clinic might not want having to bill people after the visit, but keeping the overpayment unless patients ask for them is a dishonest practice - it's basically theft! So, after having experienced this three times, I found another provider that billed me correctly.

She does not care about the wellbeing of her patients at all!!She lead me to believe that she was calling the office manager to address my concerns and ill treatment by the front office staff, she told me to have a seat while she placed the call. After waiting in the lobby for over 30 minutes, she rudely told me to leave the waiting area and go wait outside in 100 degrees weather.Angela does not exhibit the compassion nor skills to be an effective healthcare provider. Shame on you Angela. I hope younever experience the type of poor treatment you give to those seeking care!!!Response to Angela’s comments. And you continue to lie!! I did have my ID. I did not have my drivers license but, I did have a picture ID which is an acceptable form of ID in the state of Florida. I was never given an option to come back another day. I was told to leave and threaten if I didn’t. I would not come here receive care even if you were paying patient’s by the minute and providing free service!!!Karma is real!!!

Nov 28, 2024 · Catherine P.Dr. Shvartzman is excellent in his surgery, exam, and communication and his staff follow his example. I had a recent appointment and was taken back about 30 minutes after my appointment time but I realize dermatology is not a one size fits all practice and that everyone should receive the same care and attention. I have seen him in his Riverside office and Orange Park office (my preference) and always received the same level of attention and care. I would not hesitate to recommend Precision Dermatology to anyone.
