La Luna Aesthetics aims to offer a range of features and highlights that could appeal to clients seeking various aesthetic and skincare services in California. However, it is important to consider both positive and negative feedback to form a comprehensive understanding of the clinic's attributes.
- Personalized Skincare Approach (Positive Aspect): One client highly praised the esthetician for being "incredibly knowledgeable, taking the time to understand my skin’s needs, asking the right questions, and recommending the most suitable treatments." This suggests a commitment to individualizing care.
- Professional and Relaxing Environment (Positive Aspect): The same client described their experience as "professional, relaxing, and truly personalized," leaving them "refreshed, glowing, and well taken care of."
- Wide Range of Services: The clinic offers a broad spectrum of services from various facials (Acne, Hydro Glow, GLO2FACIAL) and peels (BIOREPEELCI3, Microneedling with Chemical Peel) to injectables (Botox, Dermal Fillers, Sculptra) and body treatments (Non-surgical BBL, Emsella, EMSculpt NEO, Hair Restoration), providing many options for clients.
- Advanced Technologies: The inclusion of treatments like GLO2FACIAL and BIOREPEELCI3, along with advanced injectables and body contouring technologies, indicates an effort to offer modern aesthetic solutions.
- Non-Invasive Options: Many services, particularly the facials and injectables, are non-invasive with minimal downtime, appealing to clients seeking effective results without surgery.
- Communication and Understanding (Concern Highlighted by Negative Review): A significant concern raised by a client was a perceived lack of clear communication. The client stated the esthetician "never walked through anything she was putting on my face" and felt she "all of a sudden did not understand any questions I was asking her" using a language barrier as an excuse when "the damage was done." This suggests a potential area for improvement in client education and understanding during procedures.
- Pain Management and Client Comfort (Concern Highlighted by Negative Review): One client reported "extractions which hurt more than I any other extractions I had ever had in the past" and a "burning" sensation, indicating a painful experience. The esthetician's response that "real extractions apparently mean getting your skin ripped apart" was particularly distressing for the client.
- Post-Treatment Care and Empathy (Concern Highlighted by Negative Review): The client experienced "lesions, cuts, and torn skins" and later "scabs all over my face," expressing that the esthetician "disregarded my concerns" and "her lack of empathy was the WORST." This points to a significant issue with post-treatment support and client care following an adverse reaction.
- Potential for Varied Experiences: The stark contrast between the two reviews suggests that client experiences at La Luna Aesthetics can vary significantly, from highly positive to deeply negative.

For California locals, La Luna Aesthetics in Irvine presents itself as a clinic offering a wide array of skincare and aesthetic services, from advanced facials and chemical peels to injectables and body contouring treatments. Its suitability for residents will largely depend on individual preferences and the specific experience encountered. On one hand, the clinic has received positive feedback for providing "professional, relaxing, and truly personalized" facial treatments, where the esthetician was described as "incredibly knowledgeable" and attentive to skin needs. This suggests that for some, La Luna Aesthetics can deliver a highly satisfactory and rejuvenating experience.
On the other hand, a detailed negative review highlights significant concerns regarding painful extractions, lack of clear communication during treatment, perceived unprofessionalism (touching the face without gloves, being on the phone), and critically, a deeply distressing outcome of skin lesions and scabs, followed by a perceived lack of empathy and disregard for the client's concerns. This stark contrast in experiences suggests that while the clinic offers a broad range of modern aesthetic services, the consistency of care and patient communication may vary. Therefore, for locals considering La Luna Aesthetics, it is crucial to conduct a thorough consultation, ask detailed questions about procedures and potential outcomes, and ensure a clear understanding of the treatment plan to make an informed decision that aligns with their personal comfort and expectations for skincare and aesthetic procedures.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had an amazing facial treatment and I highly recommend it! The experience was professional, relaxing, and truly personalized. The esthetician was incredibly knowledgeable, taking the time to understand my skin’s needs, asking the right questions, and recommending the most suitable treatments. I felt like she genuinely saw my skin’s unique qualities and provided expert care accordingly. The entire process was comfortable, pleasant, and seamless, and I left feeling refreshed, glowing, and well taken care of. I will definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend it to everyone looking for high-quality skincare and a truly professional touch!
Mar 17, 2025 · Geo America PersonalI went in looking for an herbal green peel a few weeks back. I talked to Rika about my skin concerns, sharing all the struggles I had experienced with my skin. I told her I felt like the green peel would work and felt safe with it because of its natural ingredients. She told me that she would do an extraction facial with her "active" ingredients and that her products would work better than the green peel I was looking for. I decided to trust her, hoping she knew what she was talking about. She started doing extractions on my skin which hurt more than I any other extractions I had ever had in the past. I literally almost cried. I had never had extractions so painful in my life. She then put something on my face (she never walked through anything she was putting on my face) she would just put random things on my face, and it started burning!I told her my face was burning and she said it was because my face was not used to "active ingredients" but it honestly felt like she put on a "peeling" ingredient. She then went on to pile on calming ingredients. It was the sloppiest painful facial I have ever had in my life, it felt like she was just piling all over my face on top of each other. I peered up at one point and she was on her phone, and had removed her gloves and then went on to touch my face. I didn't know what to do or say but kept thinking if she was passing on bacteria on to my face. The real horror came when I went home, I literally felt like my face was burning! So, I wiped off all the product she put on my face and was horrified. I noticed there were actual lesions, cuts, and torn skins from the extractions! I literally cried and contacted her. She told me to go in the next day to put on a calming cream that would help. The next morning, I woke up with scabs all over my face. I had never had scabs before in my life. I told her I had scabs and that I should let me skin heal before she tries anything on my face. She said to go in the next day to get a soothing cream. During my visit, she completed disregarded my experience, saying I have never had a real facial before because real extractions apparently mean getting your skin ripped apart. When I started asking questions she would act like she didn't understand what I was telling her, and would use that English is her second language as an excuse (she does have a thick accent and I cant really understand what she is trying to say half the time), but when the damage was done, she all of a sudden did not understand any questions I was asking her.I think what's worst is she saw that I was already so self-conscious about my acne, and she could have told me that she could not help but she didn't, she tore my skin. Now it has been weeks and my skin is left with acne scars and hyperpigmentation. She never contacted me again to check up on my skin and disregarded my concerns. Acting as if my concerns were invalid, after she completely ripped my skin. I feel like her lack of empathy was the WORST. For someone who works in this type of industry she should be more honest about the type of treatments she works on and if she cannot actually help someone with acne or actual skin concerns, she should say that. Please be careful going to see her!*** I had previously posted this review and it was removed. This is actual experience, I have text messages with Rika and pictures before and after going to see Rika. If this gets removed again I will have to report to the board of cosmetology and the state because this was a horrible experience and I do not want this happening to anyone else.
