Georgetown Dermatology PLLC Reviews
I had a pretty bad interaction with Dr. Kauffman and left the appointment feeling angry and hopeless. She sent me home with a treatment that I already said was tried and failed. However, several months later she called me out of the blue to see if it worked. When I said it didn't, she asked me to come back in for further testing. I was very impressed by that. I guess she was either having a bad day when I saw her or maybe some personality clashing. But who cares, if she can diagnose and treat what no one else has been able to, it will change my life. Just the fact the she is interested in my case makes a huge difference.Update: She brought me back in, did a biopsy, charged me money, and then had no real answers. And because the day she took the sutures out the issue I was having was a tiny bit better, she said to come back next year if it gets back again. This is something that changes daily. So that was a useless suggestion. When I told her what another derm thought this was, she wouldn't even hear me out. She had never heard of it and wasn't even pronouncing it correctly.
May 21, 2025 · Elena LondonThe appointment was okay. However, they do not accept my insurance. I paid out of pocket and they offered to submit the claim on my behalf. This was in May. I called in July to ask about the claim - spent a while on hold. Was told that the person handling was not there just then but that she would call me back.I called again yesterday — spent 15 minutes on hold. Then the receptionist told that the person handling claims was not there but that she (the receptionist) would find out and call me the next day, ie today, which hasn’t happened (it’s 5:50pm as I write this).Needless to say, I have no desire or intention to spend even more time on hold. Instead, I am relating my experience to anyone considering this practice . Should someone actually contact me with an apology and information on the status of my claim, I may consider revising my review.
Aug 23, 2022 · S DI don’t normally write reviews for doctors, but this place does not deserve the low rating. I had an abnormal mole, and most dermatologists weren’t getting me in for 3 months. Georgetown Dermatology got me in the next day. Maria, the nurse practitioner, was extremely thorough and kind. They took off the mole I was concerned about and another that looked abnormal. I received results in two weeks, and Maria took the time to explain them clearly and answer all my questions. I never felt like I was being rushed off the phone, like I have been with other doctors. I highly recommend and will keep going here for my checkups! They also took many Covid precautions, and I felt safe going amidst the pandemic.
Nov 30, 2020 · MJIt was my first time at the practice and the wait was awfully long. I arrived 20 minutes before my appointment time to fill out new patient paperwork. I sat from 10:40 to 11:30 before I was even taken back. During that time another patient stormed out into the waiting around and angrily said to us "good luck! She had me waiting an hour!" After being taken back at 11:30, I waited in the examination room until 12:20. Around 12:05, the nurse practitioner popped her head in and said, "are you all right? I'll be back in 2 minutes." I thought, what's another two minutes. I've already been waiting an hour. But she took 15 more minutes to come in. She came in and did her consultation, at which point it dawned on me that I wasn't going to be seeing either doctor. When I asked about it, the nurse practitioner said to me "no but I can have her come in and say hi if you like." I also work in health care and was very disappointed that this wasn't made very clear at the time the appointment was made or when I arrived and checked in. It's nothing against the nurse practitioner, who seemed knowledgable in this field and very professional, but when you call a dermatology office and make an appointment to see a dermatologist, it's disappointing that they don't have time for you. I finally left after checking out at 1:00 pm. Overall I did not like my experience here, thought the wait was outrageous, and will be seeking out a new dermatologist to see in the future.
Feb 13, 2016 · Christine Han, DMDExpect to wait at least half an hour for your scheduled appointment. Also make sure they freeze any warts you have in one go. Try to find a better dermatologist. I will not be Coming back. They are more interested in making money than helping their patients!
