Four Seasons Laser Center Introduce
For residents across Massachusetts, particularly those in the bustling heart of Boston, the promise of effective aesthetic treatments like laser hair removal can be very appealing. When considering a local clinic for such services, it's crucial to gather comprehensive information to ensure a safe, comfortable, and successful experience. This article aims to provide an overview of Four Seasons Laser Center in Boston, drawing upon available public information and client testimonials to help potential clients in Massachusetts make informed decisions about their beauty investments.
Laser hair removal is a popular procedure for addressing unwanted hair, offering a more long-term solution compared to traditional methods like shaving or waxing. However, the effectiveness of these treatments can vary significantly depending on the technology used, the expertise of the practitioners, and the protocols followed. For those in Massachusetts considering Four Seasons Laser Center, understanding the nuances of their services and past client experiences is key to setting realistic expectations and choosing a reputable provider in your local area.
Four Seasons Laser Center is located at 268 Newbury St #4th, Boston, MA 02116, USA. Newbury Street is one of Boston's most iconic and upscale shopping and dining districts, known for its elegant brownstones and vibrant atmosphere. This prime location in the heart of Boston's Back Bay makes the clinic highly accessible for residents throughout Boston and surrounding communities within Massachusetts. The address indicates a suite on the 4th floor, suggesting a private and dedicated space within a larger building, which is common for professional medical spas in urban areas. While Newbury Street offers a desirable address, parking can be challenging in this busy part of the city. Public transportation, including various MBTA bus routes and the Green Line subway, is readily available within walking distance, making it a convenient option for those relying on public transit. For those driving, utilizing nearby parking garages would be advisable. The clinic’s presence in such a central, high-visibility area means it's easily discoverable for individuals seeking aesthetic services in metropolitan Massachusetts.
Based on the provided client reviews, Four Seasons Laser Center primarily focuses on laser hair removal. While a "medical spa" might offer a broader range of services, the testimonials specifically detail experiences related to hair removal. Therefore, the core service offered, as directly evidenced by customer feedback, is:
- Laser Hair Removal: The clinic offers laser treatments to reduce unwanted hair on various body areas, including the face, neck, and lower legs, as mentioned by clients. The procedure involves the use of laser technology to target hair follicles, aiming to inhibit future hair growth. Clients noted the application of cooling gel during their sessions and described the sensation of hair falling out post-treatment.
It is common for laser hair removal clinics to offer packages with multiple sessions, as hair growth occurs in cycles, and multiple treatments are required to achieve significant reduction. Clients mentioned purchasing an "8 series package" and additional "series" of treatments, indicating this practice is in place at Four Seasons Laser Center.
The client reviews offer specific insights into the experience at Four Seasons Laser Center, highlighting both positive and concerning aspects. These features are crucial for prospective clients in Massachusetts to consider:
- Initial Impression and Staff Interaction: The front desk experience was described as "ok, a little off putting" by one client, while the technician was initially "pleasant." This suggests a mixed first impression regarding customer service.
- Treatment Procedure: Clients noted the liberal use of "cooling gel on the area" during laser hair removal treatments, with one client stating they experienced "no pain or discomfort" during the procedure. However, a later review from a different clinic contradicted this practice, suggesting cooling gel might impede results. (Note: Current best practices for laser hair removal may vary, with some modern lasers integrating advanced cooling systems that don't require external gels, while others might still use gels to enhance comfort and light transmission depending on the laser type).
- Results: Clients reported that "hairs started falling out after each appointment," which is an expected immediate effect of laser hair removal. However, a significant highlight, or rather a concern, was the "still patches of hair growing back" after an 8-appointment series, and eventually, "100% regrowth of hair" after some time. This directly impacts the perceived effectiveness and permanence of the treatments.
- Sales Practices: A recurring theme in the reviews is the "pushing more and more treatment" by the manager, described as "just out for your money." This aggressive sales approach for additional series of treatments, even after disappointing results, is a significant highlight for clients.
- Tipping Practices: Clients were surprised by the presence of a "tip jar" and the expectation to tip the technician, which they found "embarrassing" due to not being prepared. This is highlighted as an uncommon practice in "reputable places" for medical aesthetic procedures.
- Discrepancies with Industry Standards: A client who later sought treatment at a "different medical spa" claimed that "basically everything they did was wrong" at Four Seasons Laser Center. Specific points of concern raised included:
- Pricing: Questioning clinics that "slash their costs in half," suggesting that quality comes at a higher price.
- Cooling Gel Use: The new spa informed the client that cooling gel "should not have been put on the treatment areas" for better, more permanent results, despite potentially increasing discomfort. (Note: Research indicates that cooling gels are used with some laser types, particularly IPL and some diodes, to ensure optimal light transmission, protect the skin, and enhance comfort. However, some advanced lasers use integrated cryogen cooling or air cooling, and excessive or improper gel use could be an issue depending on the specific laser technology).
- Tipping Norms: Reconfirming that "tips are not a common practice in reputable places."
- Technician Comfort and Q&A: Emphasizing that "feeling comfortable with the technician and given the time to ask questions is a must!"
- Staff Performance Variance: While the overall experience was negative for one client regarding results and sales, they noted that the "technician I had last two visits was great. If she was there the whole time I'd probably not have as much regrowth," suggesting some individual staff members may perform better than others.
For individuals in Massachusetts looking to contact Four Seasons Laser Center, the following information is available:
- Address: 268 Newbury St #4th, Boston, MA 02116, USA
- Phone: (561) 419-0022
- Mobile Phone: +1 561-419-0022
Prospective clients can use these phone numbers to inquire about services, pricing, or to schedule a consultation. Given the mixed reviews, it would be advisable for individuals to thoroughly discuss their expectations and any concerns before committing to treatments.
In conclusion, when considering a local skincare clinic for laser hair removal in Massachusetts, Four Seasons Laser Center on Newbury Street in Boston presents a mixed picture based on available public reviews. Its prominent location in a vibrant part of Boston offers convenience for many residents, being accessible via both private and public transportation.
However, the client testimonials highlight significant concerns regarding the long-term effectiveness of the laser hair removal treatments, with reports of "100% regrowth" after multiple sessions. Furthermore, aspects such as aggressive upselling tactics by management, the unexpected expectation of tipping technicians in a medical spa setting, and the alleged use of practices (like cooling gel application) that a later clinic deemed incorrect for optimal results, are significant drawbacks. While some individual technicians may offer good experiences, the overall pattern described by dissatisfied customers suggests that potential clients in Massachusetts should approach Four Seasons Laser Center with caution. For those seeking durable results and a transparent, client-focused experience in laser hair removal, it would be prudent to conduct extensive research, ask detailed questions about treatment protocols and expected outcomes, and compare offerings with other highly-rated clinics in the Massachusetts area before making a financial commitment.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I too purchased the Groupon treatments for Four Seasons Laser Center in Boston. I had been very self conscious about unwanted facial hair for years. I checked out their website (but not the public reviews) and did some research on the subject. Everything seemed on the up and up. I purchased a 8 series package for face and neck laser hair removal and made my appointment. I had never gone to a medical spa and didn't know quite what to expect. The receptionist was ok, a little off putting, the waiting room decor was pleasant and the technician was pleasant. When I went into the treatment room, I was surprised to see a tip jar! I felt terrible because, 1. I wasn't expecting to tip the technician and 2. I didn't have any cash on me. I had to embarrassingly say to the technician I couldn't provide a tip because I didn't know that was expected (after that I did tip the technician) but who would have known? As many have said the procedure included a LOT of cooling gel on the area, which was fine because I didn't have any pain or discomfort. The hairs started falling out after each appointment - which is what I expected. After the end of the eight appointments, there were still patches of hair growing back. I was slightly disappointed. The manager (a Russian man) kept pushing more and more treatment on me. I was young, naive, and a sucker. I purchased another series for my lower legs, which again kinda worked. I was extremely uncomfortable with the entire process. It wasn't until recently that I went to a different medical spa to redo all of my facial areas - because I had 100% regrowth of hair that I learned basically everything they did was wrong. 1. Let's face it, a reputable place doesn't slash their costs in half! Bite the bullet and pay more for a quality product, 2. They should not have put cooling gel on the treatment areas - sure it will hurt way worse but the results are much better and more permanent, 3. Tips are not a common practice in reputable places (hence a higher fee), 4. Feeling comfortable with the technician and given the time to ask questions is a must! Please do not go to this med spa. They are just out for your money and the results are paltry to non-existent.
Jun 09, 2021 · Jessica MorseYou can tell that the owner only cares about one thing..and that's your money. Emailed them to ask for a refund after full regrowth and was told I could come back for more treatments at $95 as long as I want to finish off a back teatment. This is all after I just finished 8 treatments in January and have basically all my hair back. No to mention I already bought a Groupon for over $300 and paid 2 additional payments of $230. I expected regrowth but not this much and to spend that much money. This was my first laser experience and trust me, I'll definitely be more careful from now on.Side note- technician I had last two visits was great. If she was there the whole time I'd probably not have as much regrowth
May 18, 2018 · Peter BenavidesThis was my first laser hair removal experience. This place is a complete rip off and has the worst customer service. The manager is unfriendly, has NO patience and is easily flustered. He scolded the technician my first appointment, it was unprofessional and made it awkward. She was a nice lady though. They charge $100 to your card if you reschedule your appointment. I once called when I was 5 minutes away and he told me to "hurry up or I'll be charged $100 to reschedule." It's a scam, it's an uncomfortable experience and I only completed like 4 out of the 8 treatments I already paid for because he keeps charging me $100 and when I called to reschedule those times no one picked up the phone! Definitely not happy with this place!
Aug 04, 2017 · Lucy LopezDon't even bother with their laser hair removal. They will upsell you like mad, charge your card without your permission (I am not talking about their $100 late fee, either), and their lasers DO NOT work. I went to them for nearly a year and I have experienced 100% regrowth. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.Oh, and one of their technicians BURNED my tattoo with the laser and they ignored me when I tried to contact them about it. (They're supposed to go around tattoos.)
Oct 05, 2017 · Alison DownsTread lightly, I first started with them after buying a groupon. At first things were unorganized but seemed okay. But after the second or third time, I realized the treatments they were using were weak and not showing results. During that same time I noticed how pushy the owner was being in trying to add on more treatments. The ladies who perform the treatments were very nice and comforting which is necessary for Brazilians and bikini areas. However, when I completed a session and it was time to schedule my next appointment I started noticing a latter, the system was always “down” which meant I had to call back to schedule my next appointment. Conveniently the system was down quite often even when I’d call back until I eventually didn’t schedule for months at a time until I forgot. (It’s been a year)I recently got a call from a woman trying to provide new discounts or deals and I told her I never finished my first treatment areas, so I wasn’t going to book new appointments for new areas. Seems very scammy to me, thus “tread lightly”
