Dermatology Center of Northwest Houston Reviews
I have taken both myself and my son here and have had nothing but great experiences. Dr. Shah treated my autistic son with patience and dignity as he worked to address a reoccurring issue. His staff was available for questions and concerns after our office visit, which helped ease my mind. The waiting times felt reasonable and I felt like the staff acted in a professional manner. Grateful to have been referred to this place.I also saw the two PA’s (Sarah and Chelsea?) on staff for my skin and both have been so kind and helpful.
Mar 07, 2025 · Caren HoldrenFirst time going, made an appointment. Had them run my insurance and they said it would be covered. Went in for mole removal, extremely long wait , only to be seen by an NP who measured 2 moles. Said one “looked good” & then used lidocaine to numb the other only to say she spoke to the Dr and he said they can’t do it because I’m pregnant. At check out I was then charged $100 for literally nothing. Measuring 2 moles and telling me to come back in a couple months. I will not be back.

May 20, 2025 · Tanya MendezI went to check in. Filled out the paperwork. It looked so nice inside. As soon as I was done and turned the paperwork in... I was shown to the door I came into, and was told to follow the ramp to the back office. So, basically they have one waiting room for the "pretty people" who are there for cosmetic reasons, and then there is another waiting room for the "ugly people" who have actual problems and need help. It was so humiliating. Then I saw the doctor and he acted like everything I told him was just a nuisance and he wanted to be done and out of the door. It was a very disappointing experience. It left me feeling confused and not at all helped. I also found out, when I went to check out, that these offices are completely connected. But they make you walk outside, down a long ramp, into a very sad waiting room when they could just let you wait in the "pretty" waiting room. So it is a very noticeable division between the two.

Oct 03, 2024 · Misty PhoenixHonestly the worst experience I’ve ever had in a dermatology setting. Upon my first visit there was an initial review of my skin (acne issues), with little to no questions about my habits, what I eat, sleep, work, stress or even questions about previous history with acne. FIRST RED FLAG.I was prescribed $300 products which I regretfully bought believing that these frauds were actually knowledgeable in their practice. These products literally ate away at my skin and turned patches of my skin pink. Upon my next visit, the doctor didn’t even notice this! She said my skin looked better! WHAT?!? Needless to say that was my LAST visit. I fear had I continued that regime my skin would be permanently damaged.I even got bloodwork done to qualify for some medication, which I didn’t get results back for, and got a BILL for it. When attempting to call this place I couldn’t get ahold of ANYONE, I called days after days after days with no answer. To even cancel my appointment I had to wait until they reached out to ME. INSANE.Additionally, the staff is so rude. After checking in, I walked around to the back area and sat in the waiting room for 20+ minutes while staff members walked around (no one at the checkin desk), wasn’t greeted, I was even GLARED at.I would turn everybody AWAY from this FRAUDULENT practice. If you have acne issues go to Houston Acne Specialists.

Oct 24, 2024 · Naiya RountreeSomething I think doctors often forget is that actions speak louder than words. The staff at this office is okay, not super friendly, but not the rudest office I have dealt with over the years. My son has SEVERE eczema. He has battled it since he was a baby, but since he hit puberty it has become unmanageable. We were excited when the doctors introduced us to new medication that actually gave him some relief. The problem is that this medication is practically impossible to get approved through insurance. Specialty pharmacies are the only ones that carry it (something I didn't know until recently). We went to this office for over a year, saw both doctors, filled out an enrollment form four different times so we could get the medication. Every time we went to the office, we heard the same thing. They said that the enrollment for the program that makes it possible to receive the medication was awaiting information from us. I called the number they gave us, and was told they weren't awaiting on anything from us. I call the office and tell the nurse, never hear back. Go to the appointment, they have us fill out the form again. They keep giving us samples, make us come back every 3 months for tests, and to tell us we didn't do something. That was never the case. All of it should have come from their office, the people were awaiting information from them, not us. I have seen more movement in one week from the new doctor we are seeing, than I ever did over the year and half going back and forth at this office. Actions speak louder than words. They were extremely unhelpful.
