Their aim is to provide holistic care for skin, hair, and nails. While specific detailed service lists are best confirmed by contacting the clinic directly, based on the typical offerings of a full-service dermatology practice, you can expect a variety of treatments and consultations.
General Dermatology: This includes diagnosis and treatment of common skin conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and rashes. Regular skin cancer screenings and mole checks are also a crucial part of general dermatology, emphasizing preventive care and early detection of serious conditions.
Cosmetic Dermatology: For those looking to improve the appearance of their skin, cosmetic services often include treatments like Botox and dermal fillers to reduce wrinkles and restore volume. Other popular cosmetic procedures might involve laser treatments for skin rejuvenation, hyperpigmentation, or hair removal, as well as chemical peels and microdermabrasion for improved skin texture and tone.
Surgical Dermatology: This branch typically deals with the surgical removal of skin lesions, cysts, moles, and skin cancers. This often includes Mohs micrographic surgery, a highly specialized procedure for removing skin cancers with minimal damage to surrounding healthy tissue.
Hair and Nail Disorders: Dermatologists also treat conditions affecting hair, such as hair loss (alopecia), and nail disorders, including fungal infections and ingrown nails.
Pediatric Dermatology: Some clinics offer specialized care for children, addressing skin conditions unique to younger patients.
Beyond the core services, Advanced Dermatology, P.C. aims to distinguish itself through several key features and a patient-focused approach.
Patient-Centered Approach: One of the most critical aspects of any healthcare provider is how they interact with their patients. While experiences can vary, the clinic aims for a patient-centered approach. As highlighted by a patient's experience, the staff at the 86th Street location are often described as "very friendly and nice." This indicates a commitment to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals seeking care.
Understanding of Patient Needs: The clinic appears to understand the realities of New York life, including unforeseen emergencies and busy schedules. One patient noted that the reception was "understanding" when they were late due to an emergency and managed to find an opening for them shortly after, preventing the need for a rescheduled visit. This flexibility and empathy can be invaluable for patients in a fast-paced city.
Thorough and Attentive Doctors: The quality of care often hinges on the individual practitioners. While experiences can differ, some patients, like the one who praised Dr. Tracolli, have reported a positive experience with doctors who are "not 'rushy'," take their time to listen to complaints, and are "thorough in their examination." This level of attentiveness fosters comfort and trust during consultations.
Comprehensive Consultations: Patients appreciate doctors who take the time to answer all their questions. This thoroughness ensures that patients feel well-informed about their condition and treatment options, leading to greater peace of mind and better adherence to care plans. The emphasis on feeling "very comfortable and at ease during the examination" speaks to a focus on patient well-being beyond just medical treatment.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1First impressions are everything, and Dr. Suzanne Friedler was phenomenally unprofessional. The staff were kind, but the office was respectfully disorganized and uncoordinated. As an assistant began my skin check with my gown open, Dr. Suzanne Friedler suddenly walked in—door wide open, another assistant in tow—and offered no acknowledgment of me sitting half-naked. Those first 10 seconds of sheer vulnerability were, frankly, comical.Dr. Suzanne Friedler then speed-ran my exam in under three minutes, diving into sensitive areas milliseconds before even mentioning consent. Did I mention this all happened after I’d already waited an hour past my scheduled appointment time? With that said, please do thorough, extensive research and find a doctor who is attentive and professional. Even official healthcare provider sites can have inflated reviews.
Jul 01, 2025 · jbourdainThe 86th Street Advanced Care Dermatology Center staff is very friendly and nice. I was late for my appointment due to an unforeseen emergency. The reception was understanding, and she found an opening a few minutes later to place me in for that appointment to avoid me having to come back another day. Dr Tracolli was also very nice and not "rushy." He took his time to listen to all my complaints and was thorough in his examination. I felt very comfortable and at ease during the examination. Dr. Tracolli took the time to answer all my questions. I would highly recommend him
May 14, 2025 · Marcenia WilliamsI booked an appointment eagerly to find out why my 14 year old daughter was having her entire back of her hair break off with scalp tenderness in the matter of a month. The doctor wanted to give me the most basic explanation without digging to find out more.He basically tugged at my daughter’s hair and said change the hair style. So I specifically asked him what is causing the scalp tenderness he said he didn’t know.Well is it not your life’s work to try and find out? Did you not go to med school? You are the doctor correct?Shoulder shrugs are not a diagnosis. If the easiest answer does not fit the patient’s experience, you should perhaps dig a bit deeper.I gave two stars because the front desk staff was very competent.
May 12, 2025 · Alita TerryI went to see Dr Friedler for a few problems. I was seen 45 minutes after my scheduled time. I decided to purchase a chemical peel package which was $1750 for 6 sessions. The actual treatment takes less than 5 minutes but they have been consistently late for at least 45 minutes. They also bill my insurance every time I visit even though it’s a cosmetic treatment and I paid out of pocket. Dr Frielder is very kind but always in a rush. They always forget the areas they’re supposed to apply the chemicals on and don’t apply the chemicals thoroughly. I will not be returning for cosmetic procedures after my sessions are completed as I expect a better service when I’m paying out of pocket. However, I would come back for a regular visit that is covered by my insurance and make sure it’s a day I have plenty of time since waiting is always long. I don’t understand why some doctors book more patients than they can handle and run late. I don’t mind 10-15 minutes but there were times where I waited over an hour. It costs me near $300 for a 5 minute treatment with a looooooooong wait. Unacceptable. My last visit was scheduled at 12:15 and I didn’t leave until 1:30. Not to mention, mid-procedure, the doctor answered a personal, non-emergency, phone call with gloved hands and continued the procedure with the same gloves. She continued to have a full conversation as she was carelessly continuing the procedure. This doesn’t help the fact that I’m there to get rid of acne and the dr is touching her phone and contaminating my back. She offered to sell me more sessions and I declined and explained how the long wait is a problem for me. She goes “I’m a doctor and sometimes I go to visit a doctor and I wait over an hour. They don’t give me a special professional treatment”I thought that was unnecessary especially because it gives people the impression that doctors should get a special treatment and wait less. Next time I will go to a legit cosmetic doctor that has good bedside manners and will not make me wait an hour for such basic treatment. They’re also very inconsistent with the procedure. Sometimes they let it dry for 5 minutes then neutralize and times they start neutralizing right away. I got it done 5 times and it’s been a different process every single time.
